Renewal price for our Standard Plan was higher than last year. Anyone else notice this for Backlog? Seems like a decent jump for just a few more users.

G gamerraj 4 weeks ago ✓ Best Answer
Mine increased too, by about 15%. I think the promotional pricing from our first year ended. Support confirmed it.
8
N NikhilS 4 weeks ago
Ah, that makes sense. Didn't realize I was on a promo rate.
3
C coolboy88 4 weeks ago
Same thing happened to us when we went from Free to Standard. The initial offer was really good.
2
P PriyaG 4 weeks ago
Did you try asking for a discount? Sometimes they'll offer something if you commit to a longer term.
10
N NikhilS 4 weeks ago
Good point. I'll reach out to them.

Worth a shot, never hurts to ask.

We're on the Enterprise Plan and haven't seen a significant change. Maybe it's different for the lower tiers?
11
N NikhilS 4 weeks ago
Could be. Enterprise usually has more custom agreements.

Thinking of trying Backlog for our small dev team. Is the Free Plan actually useful?

P PriyaSharma 1 month ago ✓ Best Answer
Yeah, it's pretty good for basic stuff. Issue tracking and a bit of version control. Don't expect a ton of storage tho.
10
A AmitPatel 1 month ago
Enough for small projects, but we hit limits fast with larger codebases.
4
R RaviKumar 1 month ago
How much storage is 'not a ton'?
7
S SanjayReddy 1 month ago
Nah, it's too limited. Better off just doing a paid trial of something else if you're serious.
3
R RaviKumar 1 month ago
Depends on your team size and needs, I guess.
4
A AnjaliMehta 1 month ago
Free plan was fine for us when we started. But upgrading to Standard was a no-brainer for the extra users and Gantt charts.
2
P PriyaSharma 1 month ago
True, the free one gets cramped quick.
3
V VikramSingh 1 month ago
Gantt charts are a lifesaver.

My Backlog renewal price was noticeably higher this year for our Standard Plan. Anyone else experience this, or is it just me?

N NikhilS 1 month ago ✓ Best Answer
Hmm, ours renewed last month and it was roughly the same. Maybe it depends on when you started your plan or if you had some promotional pricing that ended? We've been on the Standard Plan for a while now.
14
P PoojaR 1 month ago
Could be the promo pricing ending. I'll check my old invoices.
7
S Sneha22 1 month ago
That makes sense.

R RahulK 1 month ago
Good point. Sometimes the first year is discounted.

Keep us posted if yours increases too.
5
A AmitM 1 month ago
Good question.
2
A Arjun 1 month ago
Same here! I thought it was just us. We're on the Premium Plan and the jump was significant. Support said it was due to 'general price adjustments' but didn't really elaborate. Feels a bit steep.
4
M maxwell 1 month ago
Did you try negotiating?
5
P PoojaR 1 month ago
Ugh, that's what I got too. 'General adjustments' means nothing.

Thinking of moving our small dev team to Backlog from Trello. Anyone made a similar switch? How was the transition, especially with version control and issue tracking?

A AnjaliK 3 weeks ago ✓ Best Answer
We did this about 6 months ago! The integrated version control (Git) was a huge plus for us, no more jumping between tools. Issue tracking is solid, a bit more structured than Trello cards but in a good way for dev workflows.
6
A AnjaliK 3 weeks ago
Not really, most of the dev team picked it up fast. Marketing struggled a bit more but they're using it now.
6
R RajatS 3 weeks ago
That's good to hear. Was the learning curve steep for the team?
8
V VishalN 3 weeks ago
Following this. We're on Asana and it's missing some key dev features.
10
K KaranJ 3 weeks ago
Same here, the dev integration is a big draw for me.
3
P PriyaM 3 weeks ago
We considered it but ended up sticking with Jira. Heard good things about Backlog's wiki feature though.
2
A Ajay87 3 weeks ago
The wiki is actually pretty decent for documentation. Way better than random Google Docs.

Thinking of moving our small dev team to Backlog, currently on Jira. Anyone made that switch and can share their experience?

P Priya 2 months ago ✓ Best Answer
We did this about 6 months ago from Jira Cloud. The learning curve was pretty minimal for our devs. Backlog's UI is much cleaner, and the built-in version control and wiki were a huge plus for us. No more jumping between tools constantly. Support was also way more responsive during migration than Atlassian ever was.

A AmitM 2 months ago
How's the Gantt chart functionality compare?
0
R RohanK 2 months ago
Glad to hear that about support. Jira support can be rough.
4
D Deepak91 2 months ago
Yeah, Jira support is a black hole sometimes.
0
R Rahul87 2 months ago
Used it for a project last year. It's solid for bug tracking and task management. The Free Plan is a good way to test the waters if your team is small enough. We used it for a while before upgrading. No complaints on the core features.
11
R RohanK 2 months ago
Yeah, the free plan looks promising for a trial.
0
G gamerraj 2 months ago
Free plan is pretty limited though, for a dev team anyway.
2
S Sneha22 2 months ago
We considered it but ended up sticking with Jira. Our main concern was the integrations. Jira had a lot more specific integrations we needed for our CI/CD pipeline. Backlog's integrations are good, but not as extensive for our specific use case. If you don't need super niche stuff, it's probably fine.
3
S Sneha22 2 months ago
For us it was mostly some custom reporting tools.
5
R RohanK 2 months ago
That's a good point about integrations. We're heavy on those too.

Our Backlog Enterprise Plan renewal price was way higher this year. Anyone else notice this? Trying to figure out if it's just us or a general hike.

M MeeraR 1 week ago ✓ Best Answer
Yep, ours went up too. I think they adjusted the pricing structure slightly, especially for larger teams or if you added more users recently. We had a few new hires which pushed us into a higher tier.
20
D Deepak91 1 week ago
We didn't add users though, that's what's confusing. Will need to check with support.
1
C coolboy88 1 week ago
We had a similar situation with another product. Sometimes the 'promo' rate from the first year quietly ends.
10
D Deepak91 1 week ago
Good point. Didn't think of that. Will check the initial contract.
1
P PoojaR 1 week ago
Following to see what support says.
6
S Sneha22 1 week ago
Hmm, our Standard Plan stayed the same. Maybe it's specific to the Enterprise features?

Thinking of switching from Asana to Backlog for our small dev team. Anyone made a similar jump? How was the transition for bug tracking and version control integration?

P PoojaR 1 month ago ✓ Best Answer
We did this about six months ago! The version control integration with Git was definitely smoother with Backlog. Plus, their bug tracking features are pretty solid, much more dev-focused than Asana's general task management.
19
R RahulK 1 month ago
Good to hear! Any issues with importing existing data?
8
P PoojaR 1 month ago
Not really, we just did a manual export/import for active tickets. Historic stuff we kept in Asana archives.
8
A AmitM 1 month ago
I've heard good things about Backlog's wiki feature too, especially for dev docs. Asana's felt a bit clunky for that.
5
P PoojaR 1 month ago
Yeah, the wiki is definitely a step up. We use it for all our sprint notes and technical specs now.
0
S Sneha22 1 month ago
Following this. We're also evaluating alternatives. The Gantt Charts in Backlog look promising.
12
D Deepak91 1 month ago
The Gantt charts are decent, good for high-level planning. Not as detailed as a dedicated PM tool but gets the job done for us.

Anyone using Backlog's mobile app? Thinking of switching from Jira.

A ArjunKapoor 1 month ago ✓ Best Answer
The iOS app is decent for quick updates and checking progress. Not for heavy lifting though.
7
A ArjunKapoor 1 month ago
Yep, works pretty well.
4
D DeepaNair 1 month ago
Does it have push notifications?
1
R RahulVerma 1 month ago
Jira's mobile app is still better, honestly. Backlog is functional, but not as polished.
